About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and refine the specialized equipment and devices installed on our autonomous vehicles, as well as optimize their manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in prototype assembly and testing, and see your work directly impact the performance and reliability of our autonomous systems.
What You'll Do
- Design Specialized Hardware Modules: Create and improve add-on components and supporting systems that integrate with self-driving vehicles and delivery robots.
- Optimize Production Costs and Processes: Identify opportunities to reduce costs and refine manufacturing workflows for hardware components.
- Develop Next-Generation Equipment: Contribute to research and development for future hardware solutions, supporting new features and operational needs.
- Prototype Assembly and Testing: Participate in test assemblies, including 3D printing and on-vehicle testing, to validate and refine hardware designs.
- Ensure Reliability and Safety: Conduct product testing to meet stringent reliability, safety, and quality standards.
- Support Fleet Infrastructure: Design and implement hardware solutions that streamline fleet operations and enhance infrastructure capabilities.
